When Should you reverse diet?
- When reaching your body weight and wanting to maintain that weight, it practically means that you are ready to return to your maintenance calories. This usually occurs after being in a calorie deficit for a long period of time and wanting to repair your metabolism, so it allows you to jump back into a deficit whenever you wish to. After your calorie intake has gotten too low, it’s quite common for people to see effective results in losing weight when increasing their calorie intake after a cut.
There are many ways to Reverse Diet but here is one way that works just as well:
1. Slowly increase your calorie intake
By adding 100-300 calories is a great step to begin the journey of reverse dieting. It’s common to start adding these calories by consuming some form of carbohydrates but everyone has their own preferences.
2. Keep it consistent with this increased calorie intake
Around 2-3 weeks, this is where you should be seeing your progress pics and seeing if you notice any difference in your figure. Keep in mind, it’s not recommended to use the scale everyday because weight tends to fluctuate.
3. Repeat the process of increasing calorie intake until the desired calorie goal
